You’re as cute as a bug
So precious to hug
A darling child
Who’s nice to be near.
So.. hope turning one
Is happy and fun
And takes you along

Farewell Lunch @ Euro Deli Restaurant, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

We organised a farewell for our colleagues at EuroDeli. I used to frequent this outlet before as i like the foods very much. This restaurant is one the few places that i have some memorable memories with. ;)

The setting

This farewell lunch’s location was on a special request by my Senior Manager as she loves their business buffet. The reason being that she likes their spagetti and pork knuckles very much. In fact, their pork knuckles are the best that i ever taste so far.

Starwood Privileges’ Membership

 P6260012.JPG

When we were in Le Meridien for dinner, a waiter asked us whether we have the Starwood Privilege’s card (SP) in which we replied we dont have. SP card is a card that offer a range of discounts and vouchers from four major hotels in Malaysia; i.e. Westin Hotel, Sheraton Imperial and Subang as well as Le Meridien. For those who owned a Shangri La card, it is more or less work the same way except that SP card is accepted in four hotels rather than one.

Dear bought this membership for about RM 599 and in return, we received both basic and supplementary card, and booklet of vouchers comprises of free complimentary stay, discount on accomodation and special rate packages for accomodation, and holders of this card is entitled for discount if you dine in one of the four hotels.

Thailand 2008: Snapshot of Foods

The following snapshots are about the foods that we had while we were in Thailand;

KFC’s Spicy Chicken Rice & McD’s McWings

Burger King’s Pork Burger

Since Dear is a fast food fan, we had visited all the popular fast food restaurants; McDonald for its Samurai Burger (Pork) and McWing), KFC for its local spicy chicken rice and Burger King for its pork burger. Unlike our local restaurant, the fast food restaurant in Thailand is non halal. I had McWing before in Hong Kong and Singapore and i was totally smitten by it unlike the one that i had in Thailand which are tasteless.

Grill Seafood

I totally enjoyed Thai’s grill foods such as seafoods, chicken and porks to the extend that i craved for them. While Dear busy with his shopping, i was with engaged with foods. I seldom have pork back at home but while i was there, pork seems to be on top of my list where food is concerned.

As for desserts, both me and Dear totally into this:

Mango with Sticky Rice

The most memorable moment for me was the crazy way where both Dear and me tried out as many food as we can in Siam Paragon’s food court. We had barbecue and grill chicken, garlic hotdogs, clams and ice cream.

Thailand 2008: Lunch @ JJ Mall, Bangkok

We went to ChachutChak Market after our visit to the Floating market. Since we arrived there well after noon, we decided to have lunch the JJ Mall after a cautionary advise from our tour guide. After spending some time in searching for food in this mall, Dear wanted to have lunch in this restaurant (i cant recall the name as it was in Thai).

The setting

Dear asked what i wanted to have so i told him i want to have tom yam soup (i had this almost daily even during my tour)  and he ordered a few others dishes:

It was a pretty satisfying meal for me especially the fried pork with Basil leaves ;)

Thailand 2008: Golden Beach Hotel @ Pattaya

Note: This is my 500th entries ;)

Whilst we were in Pattaya, we stayed at Golden Beach Hotel, a 3 star hotel situated in the middle of the town itself where the nightlife is. The different between Pattaya and Bangkok is the nightlife. Quoting a statement from Popeye, Bangkok is all about shopping where else Pattaya is its nightlife. ;)

P7030152.JPG

The room allocated to us was a twin sharing with 2 single beds. I thought of requesting for a change of room but Dear doesnt allowed me to. What he did was to push the beds together for the night and rearrange back the beds to its original place in the morning ;)

Our Room

What really dissappoint me was the breakfast buffet provided by the hotel. Not only it has limited choices, the food is not enough to cater for all its guests and the waiter/waitresses are rude and is on a slow motion mode in replenished foods and utensil. For those who intend to stay at this hotel, dont expect to have a full and satisfying breakfast eventhough it was provided in your package.

Thailand 2008 : Floating Market

We paid another 1000 Baht for us to go to Thailand’s original floating Market which is famously known as “Dumneon Saduak Floating Market. The journey towards the market tooks about An hour 45 minutes. We makes a few stop on our way to the floating market such as the orchid farm and sugar factory. We depart early from Bangkok in order for us to take the boat from jetty at 9am.

According to the tour guide, the floating market will be ‘floated’ with boats at about 10am whereby the locals will jammed up the market to do marketing. Floating market is a wet market whereby the locals buy and sell goods while on their boat. I was amazed with what i saw there:
